Printing, scanning and copying

Find information on how to print, scan, and copy at branches of the Library of Science. You pay for prints or copies with a credit or debit card or by buying a prepaid card. Visitors may use our printers, scanners, and copiers.

PaperCut printing system

All printers and copiers in branches of the Library of Science are connected to the PaperCut printing system. Using PaperCut you can print, scan, and copy using the majority of printers and copiers in Lund University. You also use PaperCut to print from your own computer.

Register your credit or debit card

To pay for prints and copies you must first register your credit or debit card in the PaperCut portal. Log into the portal with your student or Lucat username and password and select ‘Visa/Mastercard’ in the menu.

To print from your own computer, log into the PaperCut portal with your student or Lucat username and password and select ‘Web print’ from the menu.

Paying with a prepaid card

If you do not have a credit or debit card that can be registered in the PaperCut portal, you can buy a prepaid card instead. It will be a little more expensive and unfortunately we cannot refund any unused balance on a prepaid card.

Copying and scanning

To log into a printer, touch your LU Card to the card reader attached to the printer or manually enter your username and password. Then select either ‘Copy’ or ‘Scan and send’. If you want to send the scan to your student email address select the ‘Send to me’ option.

Visitors

Visitors to the Library of Science who are not students or staff can still print, copy, and scan. To do so you will first need a library card for external patrons and a walk-in-user account for library users.
