Shut up and write!
Do you find it hard to get started with your writing? Is your text not progressing even though the deadline is approaching? Would you like some company while writing? Join "Shut up and write"!
"Shut up and write" is a shared digital writing session where you, together with other students and a librarian, focus on your own writing. The session consists of three short writing blocks in a supportive, distraction-free environment with no pressure. It’s an easy way to get started, stay motivated, and get things done – whether you’re writing a thesis, a report, or any other text.
When
Thursday afternoons: 16 April, 23 April, 7 May, 21 May, 28 May
Time: 13:00-14:25 (Don’t be late!)
Where
In Zoom: https://lu-se.zoom.us/j/62121394530
Format
We begin with a short check-in where you set a concrete goal for the session. This is followed by three focused writing blocks with short breaks in between. We finish with a check-out where you reflect on how it went and what your next step will be. You can say your goal out loud or write it in the chat, for example: "I will draft the paragraph on field data collection for the methods section."
To create a focused working environment, please follow these guidelines:
• Sit somewhere undisturbed, preferably in a room with the door closed.
• Keep your camera and sound on.
• Turn on Do Not Disturb/Airplane mode on both your computer and phone.
• Arrive on time (late arrival = admission during the next break).
